Harry captured behind the wheel and as 'full-time dad' as Meghan celebrates prince's 42nd birthday

Meghan Markle celebrated Prince Harry's 42nd birthday today by posting a series of previously unseen photographs and video clips to her Instagram account.

The heartfelt tribute, shared on Tuesday, offered a rare and intimate glimpse into the couple's family life with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.

Meghan, 45, accompanied the montage with the caption: "He's simply the best. Happy birthday, my love."

The carousel opened with a striking portrait of Harry before moving through a collection of tender family moments.

One image captured the duke and his eldest son seemingly preparing for a spot of archery with balloons as targets.

A particularly charming photograph showed Harry hand in hand with Lilibet on the ski slopes, the young princess kitted out in a helmet, pink gloves and a white and pink snow jacket.

The family's black Labrador, Pula, also featured, trailing behind an all-terrain vehicle as Harry drove both children along a path beside a pond.

A romantic black-and-white image depicted the couple sharing a kiss in a vineyard, while their children played in the background.

Later in the day, Meghan followed up with a second post on her Instagram Stories. The clip showed the duke behind the wheel of a car, looking visibly delighted as they motored through the countryside.

The Duchess filmed the surrounding greenery before panning the camera across to her husband in the driver's seat, and emblazoned the video with "Happy birthday!" in capital letters.

It follows a trend of Meghan posting a behind-the-scenes look at her start to life in the UK, after the family's move on August 26.

Just days ago, Meghan shared her first glimpse of British home footage, when she captured the Sussexes enjoying countryside strolls as a family.

The 35-second montage depicts Harry, Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, embracing country life at their new Cotswolds home.

Footage shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex strolling hand in hand through woodland in Wellington boots, the children tramping through muddy puddles, and the family out on a lake in a rowing boat with Harry rigging up a fishing rod.

The clip was captioned with nothing more than a Union flag and a red heart emoji.

The Sussexes are said to be keeping hold of their Montecito residence and a holiday property in Portugal while establishing a private, non-royal base in this country - the location of which remains under wraps.

But just yesterday, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan have already switched Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's school just days they started.

A spokesman said: "The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements."

The spokesman added: "The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there."

The concerns are said to relate to heavy local traffic and the distance between the school and the family home, with an incident making it difficult for their security vehicles to maintain convoy formation.
