Body found in search for missing three-year-old boy Noah Woods

A body has been found amid a major search for a missing three-year-old boy after he was separated from his family at a playground in Suffolk.

Three-year-old Noah Woods was last seen at around 3pm yesterday in Brantham, after visiting the playground in the town's Merriam Close.

After an extensive search by specialist diving teams, fire and rescue services and hundreds of volunteers, police confirmed a body has been found this afternoon.

Formal identification is yet to take place, with the discovery not being treated as suspicious at this moment in time.

Police described Noah as white, with curly ginger hair, partially deaf, non-verbal and autistic – last seen wearing a T-shirt branded with pictures from the children's TV show Bluey, shorts and black Vans trainers with a white stripe.

CCTV footage captured Noah in the playground yesterday, before running down an alleyway in the direction of Decoy Fishing Pond.

The emergency services were alerted of the boy's absence, triggering a massive search effort.

More than 1,000 volunteers descended on the village to help look for the toddler.

In an update this afternoon, Superintendent Tom Pearse said the body of a child had been found and Noah's family had been informed.

Speaking from Brantham Leisure Centre, he said: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with Noah's family and all those who knew him."
